untuk masa yang panjang,

tetapi,

tidak menegurku.

Kenapa si dia?

Kenapa kau tidak menegurku?

Padahal aku berada di situ,

Di cyberspace bersamamu..

Selepas itu,

tetapi masih tidak menegurku,

Aku ini kawanmu atau tidak?

what are friends?

to me,friends are those who help you on your time of need.

those who you help when theyare in tough times.

they cheer me up when i'm sad,

giving me support on tough days.

slap me when I went overboard.

Nineteen year old, self-employed, Fujioka Ryuji salutes and greets, “Miss Kotoko, good work -♥ Let's go out and eat together-♥” Twenty-five year old, new lawyer, Katayama Kotoko answers, “..you again? What are we going to eat today? Beef rice topping? Curry?” Ryuji laughs and says that she is wrong for today is ramen since I think he got some discount coupons while waiting for her to get out of work. With a somewhat bored look [think Haruhi], Kotori just says that's quite heroic of him. The two met each other for the first time two months ago. Flashback: That time, Kotoko was given her first case/mission wherein she is to find some witness for an injury case. She wasn't able to get much results so she becomes tired and depressed. Occasionally, she would go to some nearby bar. At a bar, the bartender asks what would she like to have. Kotoko apologizes about not wanting to have any alcoholic drinks for she just wants a cup of coffee. The bartender says, “With lots of milk.” This puzzles Kotoko. Ryuji, the bartender, tells her that for a young lady like her, who has a weary expression, milk coffee can help her relax. Kotoko is surprised by what this exceptional, refined young man, who is 6 years younger than her, had said. Later on, the evidence shows that the defendant is innocent. [Then, I think they were able to distinguish clearly as to who is the real precious witness.] After the trial, Ryuji mysteriously appears everyday at work and invites her to some cheap dinner but she had a dream of the not so distant future wherein she gave her hand in marriage to this man. End flashback

At some ramen restaurant, while they were eating, Ryuji tells Kotoko about his new work with a plain forty-two year old director and his wife. Ryuji happily raves that the director is the quiet type of person yet when he instructs people, they can easily understand him. Kotoko asks if that person is the opposite of Ryuji. Ryuji asks if she is praising him for being a good speaker. Kotoko says that she isn't praising him. Ryuji raves about the director more and he is attracted to that kind of man. Kotoko wonders why is she still staying there listening to his love life when she is already tired from work. She tells him that she isn't really against same sex love but then, the other party already has a wife. She tells him why he shouldn't pursue it – the guy's family will be hurt, etc. To her surprise, Ryuji asks if she is jealous. He then feeds her with his food and she accepts. Kotoko says that she really doesn't know where he gets his optimism. She exclaims that she is just worried about him who is simple-minded. She tells him that it isn't that she is worried about him being fired because of that. What is troubling her is he shouldn't use his measly salary to treat her out everyday since if he continues to do that, she feels that she'll blame herself if she couldn't at least use all her might to defend him. Kotoko cries and wonders why she is saying that to this idiot. Ryuji is totally moved by what she said. Ryuji laughs and says that Kotoko seems like an iron lady outside but then, he really likes that friendly/nice side to her. “Relax, I won't be a third wheel. Right now, my heart totally belongs to Miss Kotoko ★”

This stuns Kotoko that she nervously tells him that she is wearing a skirt and wasn't he only chasing after guys. Ryuji tells her that it isn't true for he isn't the type who is terrified of girls. He smiles and says that right now, everyday he is treating her, he is showing his 'husband' side to her and it seems that she beautifully didn't realize it. “You are quite slow and also very cute. Right now, you just learn of my true feelings so would you truly consider me [as a potential husband]?” Kotoko is shock as she blushes and exclaims, “Con..si--?!” Kotoko thinks that this is her greatest defeat. She quickly excuses herself and leaves. Ryuji shouts for her to wait for he is going to walk her home. Kotoko shouts that there is no need to trouble him everyday. He shouts that he just wants to show his 'husband' side to her. What happened has made her uneasy [can't sit still] yet somehow it makes her happy. She thinks that it is because she has been working too hard in achieving her dream to become a lawyer that she lacks experience with men but then she should absolutely not treat this thing seriously. In her apartment, Ryuji tells her to lock her door and windows and she shouldn't go out alone. Kotoko tells him who would go out when she has a lot of work waiting for her inside. She comments that he is acting like a husband. While telling him to go home already, Ryuji kisses her on the cheek. He giggles and says that he stole one. He tells stunned Kotoko who is holding her cheek that tomorrow, he is going to fetch her again at her office. Then, he bids her good night. Kotoko goes inside and thinks that she shouldn't treat it seriously yet he is so cute since all the food treats he did is like what a high schooler would do. She is blushing as she wonders if this is some deliberate trick because she has no way of resisting that kind of thing since that kind of appearance is her type also that warm smile. [I don't get the note but it seems she is a fan of some group, I'm thinking a pop group or something] She puts in a video in her player and decides to watch that group to calm herself down. She then sighs and seems to be thinking upon remembering Ryuji says that he'll go see her tomorrow.

On the way home, Ryuji was called out by Yuu [Kousaka]. He asks her why is she out so late at night. Yuu says that she just finished cram school and since it is a special one, the lessons take longer to finish. Ryuji asks if a mid-schooler [junior high] need to study that much. Yuu says that her mother said that she has to so that she won't turn out like their neighbor, Ryuji. Ryuji sweatdrops. Yuu asks what about him, did he went to see that lawyer again. Ryuji shows her a v-sign and says that he has made progress today. Yuu says that she didn't know that he is also interested in girls that she can't believe when he said that he walks her [Kotoko] home everyday. Ryuji laments why everyone says that of him. He says that if Yuu have seen Kotoko's electrifying attitude of putting all of her effort in court, Yuu would also fall for her. Yuu just says, really. Ryuji says that honestly, there is something else that he is really worried about. The next day, Kotoko gives Ryuji a bento box. Kotoko tells him that today, they are going to eat there at the park. She says that this will lighten his burden [of buying her dinner] and it will also protect the husband's dignity. Ryuji starts crying that he always cooks for guys but this is the first time he received a bento box from a girl. He exclaims that he is so happy that he won't eat it. Kotoko sweatdrops and tells him that he should eat it else, she'll be troubled. Ryuji thanks her and says that honestly, yesterday, he didn't waste any money that he thought for the next two days, he plans that they eat meat buns and drink from the park's fountain. Kotoko is moved by this since she thinks that a diligent and thrifty guy is quite nice. She then says that she forgot to bring tea. Ryuji quickly volunteers to be the one to buy tea. He runs off and shouts that he will be right back. Kotoko angrily shouts for him not to waste money.

After he left, she blushes a little. She tells herself that there is no escape for if this continues, it will be dangerous so she should think about this carefully since she shouldn't just depend on a guy's cuteness. A light-haired woman approaches her and asks if she is Katayama Kotoko. Kotoko says yes. The woman says that her bodyguard has finally left and if it weren't for Kotoko, Akishi won't be in a hellish situation. The woman tries to strangle her when Ryuji quickly grabs hold of the woman. Ryuji apologizes for being excited for a moment that he neglects [to protect] Kotoko. The woman frees herself then runs off. Ryuji tells Kotoko that woman is the girlfriend of Akishi, the store owner. He finds it fishy when that woman didn't report to work without any good reason. Kotoko asks if that is why he is walking her home everyday and that is why he won't quit working in that store. Ryuji says that if he works at night, he won't be able to protect her. Kotoko is blushing as she thinks that even if he is a simple-minded idiot, he beautifully moves [her heart], intimately cute, then expectedly and quickly becoming a hero. [She then thinks 'forgive me', I don't know the context of that maybe for not thinking of him seriously.] Ryuji says that he will talk with that woman tomorrow and if she really likes that guy, compare to venting her anger on someone else, she should just wait for him to serve his sentence. He turns around to see Kotoko in some attack pose. He asks her what's with that pose. Kotoko says that it is karate. Ryuji asks if she is good at it. Kotoko says that it will be no problem if she is against an ordinary guy. He asks if just now, he didn't intervene, she would have most probably have won. [= She doesn't need his help] Kotoko sweatdrops and says, “..basically.” Ryuji is stunned. Then he blushes and says that she is really cool. He bends down and covers his face. “I can't bear it anymore. Will you marry me.” Kotoko is shock as she blushes. “Ah..what is this situation?! Proposal?!” Narration: Afterwards, what awaits them is perhaps her parent's forceful objection or perhaps a shock to her college's sempai-kouhai or perhaps clumsily taking care of the baby. “But the most important thing is I will forever keep it a secret – the fearful and unexpected moment when I have deeply fallen for his smile.”
